What you were told
"Just push through it."
An online menopause clinic for Ottawa.
Hot flashes at your desk, broken sleep, a cycle that's stopped making sense: these don't need pushing through. Hormone Therapy Ontario is an online menopause clinic for Ottawa adults. You talk to a Nurse Practitioner from home, get bloodwork at a lab near you if it helps, and leave with a plan you understand.

Ottawa sits on a provincial border. Your visit has to sit on the Ontario side.
- The rule. You need to be physically in Ontario at the time of each visit. Our Nurse Practitioner is registered in Ontario, and the College of Nurses of Ontario's virtual care guideline ties a nurse's registration to where the client is physically located, and asks nurses to confirm you're in Ontario.

- Why it matters here. More than one in four Gatineau residents in the labour force crosses the Ottawa River to work, and plenty of Ottawa people cross the other way for shopping, school or family. If you'll be in Gatineau when your visit is due, book a time when you're on the Ontario side.

- Living in Gatineau. You can still book, as long as each visit happens while you're in Ontario, for example from work in Ottawa. Lab coverage is the other half: OHIP covers people who live in Ontario, so a Quebec health card works differently. Ask us about lab costs when we call.

- Bloodwork near you. With our requisition, at a community lab collection centre in your part of the city. It's the only in-person step, and it's usually covered by your Ontario health card.

HRT in Ottawa, and other hormone therapy options, from one assessment.
Searching for a menopause doctor in Ottawa? You'll see a Nurse Practitioner. In Ontario, NPs assess, order and interpret tests, and prescribe.

Perimenopause and menopause. We go through what you're living with, order bloodwork only when it answers a question, and talk through hormone therapy: HRT, BHRT or MHT where it's right for you, and non-hormonal options where it isn't. Whatever you call it, you get the reasons for the plan, not just the plan.
The whole City of Ottawa, on the Ontario side of the river.
Centretown and the Glebe, Vanier, Nepean, Kanata, Stittsville, Barrhaven, Orléans, Gloucester, Manotick and the rural wards. Anywhere in the city works, as long as you're there for the visit.
Elsewhere in Ontario? Book the same way.
Asked plainly
Answered plainly.
01Is there a menopause clinic in Ottawa I can book without a referral?
Hormone Therapy Ontario is online, so there's no Ottawa office, and you can book with us directly. If you do have a family doctor, we can send them a summary, with your permission.
02I live in Gatineau. Can I use Hormone Therapy Ontario?
Only while you're in Ontario for each visit. Bloodwork coverage depends on an Ontario health card, so ask us about lab costs when we call.
03How do online visits work?
From home, at a booked time, with a Nurse Practitioner leading every step. Have your list ready.
04Is HRT covered by OHIP?
The visits and the medication are paid differently from the bloodwork. The full answer is here.
05What if it's urgent?
Bleeding after menopause or a new breast lump: contact a clinician promptly or call Health811 (811). Chest pain, sudden weakness or stroke signs: call 911.
You've pushed through long enough. Start on the Ontario side, from home.
